Re consequences: i think knowing that human (mammal? animal?) brains are hardwired that way helps me both understand how to motivate myself more and understand why some of the slimy marketing stuff (like for our Wellness plan) felt so slimy (because they framed it as a chance to earn bonus $ towards the heath care, when it really was a chance to prevent loss of $ towards health care).
