Spent too much time this morning considering a LinkedIn request from someone with whom i am estranged. It was a generic LinkedIn request, and so i let it go. I'm not clear whether i am bearing a grudge, but it's like the lesson i learned from the person who kept sending gifts: i am allowed to have boundaries that protect me from people who don't behave well in relationship with me.
I think the lesson i have learned this morning is i still wish this person would reach out and try to heal the division between us. I have made personal overtures of sorts over the years, hoping i indicate that there is not a solid wall, but a generic LinkedIn request from them isn't going to heal the division. Or even acknowledge it.
So onward.
