It's really hard to get gifts for family members whom you just don't seem to know all that well. And yeah that's a good point about the gifts, you don't have to get the two different sets of kids financially similar gifts at all.

I'm sorry you're both experiencing seasonal (hopefully) extra stress, depression, etc. Your noticing that it seems helpful to name the depression is something that I've had borne out, too. Good luck, hope the holiday this weekend is not too bad.
