Ha, i had forgotten i wrote this! Here it is a month later and all i am doing is sitting on the deck. The blinds are back, so i was out there during the warmth of the past few days.

We're lucky in that our bedroom faces east. While the morning light is not conducive to sleeping in, the room is cooler in the evening with the outside air shaded during the hottest part of the day. We used to have a huge eucalyptus shading us on the east: that made a huge difference in the comfort.

At least this last heat wave didn't seem to get quite as hot as was threatened: if you were ignoring the weather service, you may have even missed the threat.
