I'm debating about the safety pin. Thinking of wearing my "I'm One Too" button, which is about people focusing on what they have in common (something I do when talking to one brother's ultraconservative girlfriend--the primary caregiver for my youngest nephew).

Maybe a safety pin with a red cord hanging from it to blend both your ideas? I'm thinking of my pin with a safety pin.
