The trees likely to be removed for the driveway are doubles, but i also have a smaller tree/shrub with singles that has this appearance: http://www.monrovia.com/plant-catalog/plants/79/aphrodite-rose-of-sharon/ There might be pods remaining -- i'll check.

It's a good thing i took notes and looked for similar plants because i completely scrambled colors+double/single+location. Hmph.
