Me, I deal with the problem of smart devices by not having any. The only extra internet-enabled device I have is my printer, and I keep it off most of the time because I don't want it auto-downloading updates or whatever the heck it's programmed to do with my internet connection while I'm not looking. And I bought my own modem when comcast decided to enable public wifi networks on all their company-owned modems. Uh, NO.
