I read somewhere a comparison to cardamom, which ... maybe? A little floral, perhaps, but definitely a warm spicy flavor. I had tried my parents great magnolia, the classic big white blooms, and my where they intense! The saucer magnolia is more mild. So far i'm not sure how to characterize the quality the extract has. Not floral, but interesting.
