I think the sedation sounds like a good idea if it helps get Luigi back to regular grooming, and if it sounds painful, then I'd err on the side of not eliciting that, too. I have to get Yoshi groomed every 6 weeks or so to keep her hair and nails in check (she doesn't have "fur" so much as her coat is very fine and silky and tangles SO easily). It's an enormous amount of pampering and the cost is outrageous but it keeps us all happy.

I'm so happy to have the rain!! It gives me good excuse to make chili and soup this week, too.
