Goals Check-In: Week 8 of 9 (Spring)

I am somewhat obtuse when it comes to ordinal and cardinal numbers of time. OK, i am 2010-1968=42 years old. So i seem to be numbering my years with the cardinal number of years lived (Molybdenum has 42 protons), not the ordinal number (43rd year), except for a few places where i've done that. But i can correct those. ... corrected.

Last week i skipped doing the goals check in because i was over-engaged with work. I skipped the care check in similarly. I've already started thinking ahead to next period, to Beltane, instead. I suppose this is part of the same reaction that makes me want to go to bed early: let me just give up and start afresh.

Oh, curses. Someone at the meeting took a book group book that was left in the library and made a check out card for it (did they completely accession it? Unknown!) and loaned it out. Not the meeting library's book!I hope i've addressed this situation in a reasonable way: whoever made the check out card was probably a past member of the committee not a current one, and i think they crossed a boundary by doing that. But they thought they were being helpful.

0. time ------------------------

* Potential things to do:
** [2→1] Visit the Prel--- library (to get rid of books, sooner?)
** [1→3] Find a time to have brunch with St-- Mig-- (March?)
** [3→2] time aside for taxes and possible "war tax" protest

Current conference line up:
* evening Wednesday 7 April (Santa Clara): “What the Surprising Failure of Data Anonymization Means for Law and Policy.”
* May 17-19, 2010: IIW10 (Mountain View): internet identity workshop
* June 21-25 (Raleigh, North Carolina): inCommon's CAMP & Advanced CAMP.

I need vacation time for June, so i'm definitely saving my personal days (i'll have 2 in June)
Season begins with 11.67 d, and i'll earn 3.3. If i take the contingency time plus the whim, i'll have used up what i earned for the period.

* Potential 1 d 2.5d = Prel-- library may need a wed afternoon off.
* Whim 11-12 Mar: 1.375 days

w4/9: decided Prel--: in late April, not going to connect with JH. ... *NOT* going to the meeting retreat because of creek clean up and meeting up with some friends.
w5/9: need a bit of time for this afternoon. (2h)
w6/9: Legal talk was good, and positive energy. Should contact Prel's re a specific Wed.
w8/9: Last chance for Prel's; i scheduled my travel for next month except for a vacation with D&L. Not sure how i feel about seeing K-- B-- or St-- Mig--

CELEBRATE: i didn't have to take sick time this season!

1. SELF ------------------------
* incorporate more movement into my life
* finish strategy
* sketch out goals for coming seasons?
* need some sort of to-do experiment practice (just the calendar thingie & yams?)

w3/9 plan to do ten "squats" before bed... Try getting in a mile walk/20 min daily.... Just mapped a mile walk at work.
w4/9: squats are working out (while brushing teeth) but not so much the movement. The other three goals now seem more possible. I'll look at strategy & goals this week.
w5/9: less movement this past week (fewer squats, but a walk). Haven't looked at goals: have been focussing on the to-do practice around home. Work to do practice is going OK with mind map.
w6/9: W-F wiped me out with interaction intensity; S-O was dulled recovery and rain; did walk yesterday. PLAN: squats, walks, continue thinking about to-do practice. Note that boxing CDs was a good recovery thing.
w8/9: erratic engagement with movement. Believe that next nine weeks will be habit building time. Using the mind map for todo catching as another habit. Also getting evening actions in.

2. F&F ------------------------
* call Grandmama once a month at least
* post things to Granddad once a month
* March: thank yous & spring/easter (Apr 4) notes
w2/9: goal for this week: thank you notes
w3/9: continue to target ty notes. Also, have been thinking about corresponding with nephews.
w5/9: easter notes to parents & grandparents.
w6/9: Call *from* BB. Photo postage from SG. Need nephew (and niece) notes - ES's bday was NOT on schedule! TYs. Call Grandmama?
w8/9: Correspondence to EVERYBODY. Sigh. That is an unreasonable expectation. Start over? See what i can get out this week? TRIAGE: i sent Easter notes to Grandparents, next corresp in May. Leaves nephews & nieces. Punt on thank yous.

3. COM ------------------------
* -.Lib continue to focus on completing the review of donations,
cataloging new books, establishing process

w1/9:Continued work on creek news and oversight. A little on library.
w2/9: Lots of energy in these three priorities. Dewey research for library.
w3/9: Need to reinvigorate oversight work, have been on hiatus since meeting on Thursday.
w5/9: Yay, going OK (lingering to-do's but whatever)
w6/9: CC has been heavy, but feeling OK with this especially if i can shift arranging CC
w8/9: creek news not so much this month. library doing OK. Oversight fine until next month.
