I suppose i'm amused by the telegraphic use of email.

My boss to his boss CC all: [Colleague] could attend virtually if something is being set up for that. [Elaine] could travel to Dublin. Should she go ahead and plan travel?

My boss' boss CC all: As far as [Colleague] is concerned there will be a webex for the presentations and the breakouts will be held in rooms with phones. We could try to make it work.

Colleague CC all: I would like to try to participate as much as I can remotely.

My boss' boss CC all: OK. Let’s try it.

My boss to his boss CC me: Does this mean [Elaine] is off the hook?

My boss' boss to my boss CC me: I think so. I wanted to check with [Lord High Architect] but I can’t reach him.

My boss' boss to my boss CC me: Just to make it official, [Elaine] is off the hook.

Me to my boss:

And I’d managed to convince myself that this was an important meeting for me professionally and was appreciating you putting me forward, and then I spent time this morning figuring out that with three spring trips, I might have enough points for a flight to Hawaii....

I’m actually disappointed now, but not enough to ask to get back on the hook!

My boss: Lo siento.
