Christine woke with a migraine again this morning. Poor love. Not sure if having me up and moving at o'dark thirty has any part in that: is she carrying that pain for me?

Meanwhile, my laptop seems to continue to struggle along. I think it's some combination of the indexing engine for spotlight (mds) and memory performance. The activity monitor says mds is taking ~2 GB virtual memory

The struggling cuts into my morning efficiency. The email client is part of the problem, too. I do like the UX but the performance is terrible.

In other debugging activities, Northern California Digital Library (http://ncdl.lib.overdrive.com/) isn't functional on Chrome, but looks great in firefox. [Spends time finding an effective way to browse available titles that will run on the EVO. Barbara Kingsolver looks interesting. Eventually, i'll see about adding myself to the wait lists.]

Today i am going to do my best to blow through the remaining performance appraisals. I'm planning on taking Thursday and Friday off, but i'll go in on Thursday to meet with one of my staff. I'll make stopping at Edgewood Nature Reserve to look for early wildflowers part of that trip.

Do you feel like your library's ebook titles are pretty good? I think Overdrive tailors what you get to what kind of subscription you purchase. Our PL's is so-so, pretty good on new stuff, not great on less recent stuff. Oh, well, I guess I could actually click and look for myself. XD

Yeah, I think they can do that. It's all sort of baffling to me, but I think it can be tweaked by system if not branch.
