I do desire a curse on companies that scan public documents and then send people official-looking, urgent documents that demand a quick response to catch them up in near fraudulent contracts. I think i would like my curse to look like an empowered IRS that checks every detail of their books. I can't imagine the sleaze is limited to the mailers.

I would expand the curse to all phishers and scammers, there are just so many out there.

I fall prey to American exceptionalism: surely other nations have better legislation to protect consumers? Ugh.

All i could manage tonight was to stuff all the other junk mail in their postage paid envelopes.

Buying a car or house in the UK certainly does not generate the flood of deceptive mail that buying one in the US does.

There's something particularly nefarious about these mailings that are based around the fact that we have just closed a mortgage. They use every trick they can try to present as if the mail is related to the mortgage and that signing up for mortgage insurance is required or is a government program we are about to miss out on. There was one automated call ostensibly from our bank, though, that began to phish like mad for details.
