Things going on in my mind (from Wednesday Morning)

* Dorian, Dorian, Dorian. Trying to restrict myself to a few sources of information. The National Hurricane Center's Dorian pages [here] are the primary source for most reporting. Skipping the middleman minimizes the time on chatter.

* The cursed employer wellness plan. I am thinking of opting out of this year's wellness plan -- i think they require using one particular lab. That annoys me no end. The whole thing annoys me, but this might be the final straw. I think i used the lab once for one of these wellness plans in 2016 and that is why that year's data is prepopulated in "Virgin Pulse". Dear Sir Richard Branson -- really? Do you have to use that brand on EVERYTHING?

* Blood pressure. The above got me thinking about some of the times i feel brain fog and my blood pressure and maybe there's a problem there. Looks like "brain fog" can be a symptom of high blood pressure. I've ordered a monitor. I am sure i could have gotten a monitor that was independent of any app, but i have enough data in Samsung's S Health that it will not be a significant footprint change to record there.

I had no symptoms that I could tell for high BP; even when I am stressed and sure it's high, it's not. But at this age it's good to check once in a while in a non-white coat setting.

I mostly read weather underground for hurricane news/maps. It doesn't look like much rain will fall, but around 24 hours of windy.

I like Weather Underground, but their site crashes my browser with such frequency, I avoid it.

Glad you didn't get hit. Big hurricane.

I was wondering, but this morning the tracker seems to show it staying offshore? Hope it misses you handily.

BP is clearly one of the reasons my doc requires me to visit him at least twice a year, and I finally panicked his assistant and got put on little green pills, which are less hassle than I thought they would be (not diuretics and he made a point of saying I could drink freely while taking em, he must think I'm an utter lush), but they do make me tired. I'd suggest being guided by your doc (who is likely better than mine) and not being too worried if they do prescribe something for it.
