Christine's out of the house and off to demonstrate GIS to middle schoolers. The roomba is recharging after a first pass over the living area. Greycie Loo has rushed a mourning dove, leading to the rush of wings and cat bells as the dove, juncos, and towhees left foraging under the feeder. All the windows are open, letting in the mild cool air. It's going to get warm today, altogether pleasant. Outside a gentle breeze blows the long curtains of eucalyptus leaves in a shimmering display of light, punctuated by the pink pom-pom blossoms.

At least part of me is responding to the shift in the weather.

The VPN won't connect: it looks like something in the routing between my home provider to the office. I switched to the Google network and, after an odd delay, finally connected to the Google network and was able to fire up the VPN -- er, for a moment. Meanwhile, some sort of compressor engine is running out my window. Not quite jackhammer madness, but loud and insistent. Citrix is up and stable, so i can find a cranky, whiny email from a product person whining about a 4 pm meeting on a Friday. Suck it up, buddy. It's only 1 pm here, and i get up at 6 am for your product's meetings.

Greycie Loo is insisting on my full attention.

It seems quiet on LJ . Cue tumbleweeds, cue hawk sound effect.
