The rain continues, although "rain continues" in the Bay Area does not mean what it would on the east coast. It's been ages since i've experienced monotonous rain, days of constant and consistent precipitation. "Rain continues" means for me now that the roads won't have time to dry out, that one cannot plan to take a walk at a certain time, but it doesn't mean the sun won't break through for a while.
The Yosemite High Sierra webcam shows a different view than what i saw just days ago. I looked down Teyana canyon from the opposite end at Olmsted point under bright sun and saw shimmering yellow aspen.
The local HamCam is in a rosy cloud as the morning light blushes the grey.
Last day of vacation. A mild anxiety descends on me: part of me clings to the escape and rest, another part wants to do the many things that never get done because of how work consumes me.
The cats are so happy we are home.

In the southern Sierra, the California Highway Patrol issued a chain warning for Highway 168 above Shaver Lake. Yosemite National Park was expecting about 8 inches of snow above 6,000 feet. Tioga Pass and Glacier Point Road were closed at 10 p.m. Sunday, but officials there will assess conditions on both as weather improves.
The storm system originated in the Gulf of Alaska and has stalled over the Pacific northwest, bringing colder temperatures and gusty winds of up to 80 mph at the crests of the Sierra.
