Ah, from this and the follow-up entry I wonder whether it isn't so-called Evolutionary Psychology. Like the mind-bendingly shallow and racist article - not even based on his own research - that recently drew a lot of people's attention to the decline in Psychology Today. I would expect better of Atlantic. But each sub-culture seems increasingly isolated from others' thinking. I'm seeing people saying that the fragmentation of media is exacerbating that.
