Been the nerd/science guy that I am, I've been able to use metric for most things for a long time. Kind of bilingual in that. Since moving to Canada, became more "bilingual" (bimetric?). It's odd, but although officially metric, most people use Imperial for day-to-day items. Example: drivers licenses list height in weight in metric, but everyone will give you their height and weight in Imperial. The one thing that most people do use metric for every day, is temperature, and that is one thing I had the most trouble with. In the past year or so, I've been forcing myself to think in Celcius, and it's starting to sink in.
That having been said, 97ºF is HOT. It's been pleasant so far here, we whine if it hits hi-70's. This week is going up to hi-80's, and we're really going to whine.
