I think mammogram discomfort is often based on the skill of the technician, but also individual sensitivity. I found the maneuvering of my arms and torso and neck and holding the positions were more uncomfortable than the squish itself (I'm kind of short for the machine I think.) They have 3D ones now. I had dental x-rays last week, and did not have to re-do due to gagging this time.
