I'm distressed too. Less than I was while waiting for the cops to push the rioters out of the Capitol - but still unsure whether I'll be able to concentrate on work.
By now, I'm mostly distressed at the reaction, which includes a lot of people doubling down on their usual positions, once the initial shock wore off.
This was a riot, not terrorism. My local paper should not be using terrorism to mean "violent political action by our opponents".
The cops acted mostly as they should have acted in all these cases. Not surprised they were on good behaviour with this group, less good behavior in other recent cases. But blaming them for doing the right thing for a change is counterproductive.
A quick search of Fox news via Google didn't find the alleged claim this was a false flag Antifa operation, or rather that Antifa people had infiltrated Trumps followers and convinced them to do this. Shame on Fox if they claimed this; shame on folks in social media if they made up their claim about Fox news.
