Yesterday i noticed a tweet from @mactavish for a kickstarter project: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/hyperlocavore/hyperlocavorecom-a-free-yard-sharing-community (Three days to go)
I realized i hadn't followed through and made an account the last time i was scanning there, so i did, and i pledged. Then i shopped the "ending soon" projects for ones that i would be sad to not make it.
Comix Journalism: Send Ted Rall Back to Afghanistan to Get the Real Story -- Cover travel costs for independent cartoonist/war correspondent to travel and live with Afghans. He report from Afghanistan and write a book.
Shaker Love: Every Salt Shaker Needs A Home -- Over 500 pairs of salt and pepper shakers are in need of some warm, loving, and caring families! http://shakers.tumblr.com
I am particularly touched by the shaker project because my grandmother had a collection of shakers. I had wanted a pair after she died, but the wish was scrambled in passing on. I did receive the "moo cow" milk pitcher i remembered from many years of cereal, as i wished though.

Morning spent on Oversight and committee related emails. Now off to work. Can i, should i do care check in? (My calendar didn't remind me -- hey!) I should, but maybe later today.
