Uptime of 43 days? Yeah, instead of complaining about how slow my laptop is, maybe it's time for a reboot. Ha! Much faster!

I've plowed through everything tagged to do on 1 & 15 Dec and postponed a great deal to the 23rd. With my incredibly hoarse throat this morning and the lagging cold i don't think i'll be setting any goals except to make it through my day's plans.

I really want to canoe up Chorro Creek in the Morro Bay estuary, but i don't know if i'm going to be well enough. All sorts of grumpitude about THAT. I did do due diligence though and checked tide tables and read about paddling in Morro Bay, and i have been suitably dismayed by Things That Can Go Wrong. I've been rescued once along the Pacific coast: i've learned my lesson.

Yesterday i ran an errand after meeting that had me on the same side of the street as a See's candies. Oh, my. I couldn't stop. If you go into the store you can build a sampler box with your own selection. Mine included the holiday specials, mincemeat, cranberry orange, and eggnog truffles, as well as other flavors i associate with the holiday: divinity, maple walnut, cherry cordial, coconut.... It should be a completely decadent treat for Christine and i.

I am, miraculously, feeling like i can kind of pull off holiday greetings for family. It's a big step to address everyone else -- including friends we often exchange Yule gifts with -- but a bit of the guilt has disappated
