Two weeks from now Christine will be waking up in the hospital for day 1 of the five day recovery. So close.

Aiee, Christine's talking about getting her hair cut much shorter so it will be easy to take care of during the recovery.

Just made arrangements with a neighbor for her to feed our cats in the evening during Christine's hospital stay. I assume i'll be staying with Christine to the end of visiting time every evening.

I'm wearing a pair of five toed socks i bought on Saturday in Japantown. The floral pattern is more sophisticated than cute, and i wish i had more. The retail per pair price i paid wasn't bad compared to the sport sock brand that i bought with my five toed shoes in January, but i still cringe at the price (even knowing that most textile prices are lower than fair). EBay turns up outrageous stripes and busy "cute" patterns. I did find a set of solids in blue, grey, and black which i've bid on. Most of the sophistictated designs are in the tabi socks, where the big toe gets its own cover, but the rest of the toes share. A lovely cherry tree pattern attracts my attention, over and over, while some of the stripes begin to look sedate compared to the busier alternatives.

I don't *need* socks. But my feet do like these toe socks!
