Do you know your attention rhythms? I'm pondering how to go about finding a natural rhythm of attention and relaxation, particularly with the "pomodoro" approach to getting things done. In that approach you work in N minute increments, taking M minute breaks, and then periodically taking a longer break. N is usually 15-20 minutes, M 5 minutes and the longer break is 15 minutes or so.

There's something about that pacing that stresses me (I'm using 15 minute blocks), even though the process is great. I can't quite tell if i should lengthen N or M or both or what. I suspect i have a natural rhythm of switching attention, i just need to somehow observe it.

What i know is i can be deeply attentive for hours and hours, and that i've certainly grown up in a world where the clock rules and dividing activities on the hour is traditional.
