Greycie Loo is being very demanding this morning, but i think she's given up on her squirmy nipping snuggling finally. Edward remains adored by Christine and I: such a personable cat! Announcing his presence when he returns home, playing in the courtyard with the other orange cats.... And Mr M, Romeow, oh, the roofing chased him to a nest he's made on top of the soft under-bed storage for gift wrap.He comes out for love and communion, although dining seems a little odd. We're feeding him breakfast back in the bedroom. Not sure if it's away from Edward or close to his nest.

I sense Mr M's aging and wonder how fast it will be.

I seem to be smiling a bit more. I think most of the developers on the team are enjoying this week of planning. Hard to structure, but the necessary understandings seems to be happening. The usual chaos is happening in the background with the larger process[1].

I filled out the employee satisfaction survey (or whatever it's called this year): going through once with my bitterness, and then back through again with more fair responses. I can't say much positive about my direct manager, so i left those responses at neither agree or disagree. When asked what i would change about my job, i didn't point to New Director. The dissatisfaction i feel preceded the reorg. It's just that prior to the reorg, the dissatisfaction was held in balance by having a boss who i got along with so well and who managed me with just the right level of engagement. New Director is a tipping point in my dissatisfaction, not the entire cause.

[1] Why we are able to be responsive to late code changes without whining, but the other teams whine when there's an announced early code change just boggles my mind.

Commuting up to San Mateo all this week and next. My increased plays in the traffic lottery seem to have increased my hits of slow traffic.

Saturday my brother is arriving from Beijing, and we'll host his clan between his arrival and the UCLA - Stanford game, saving them commute south and back to his wife's parent's home.
