I am sorrowed to find
judywatt has passed away. I had stopped reading her journal years ago, and i find i cannot remember why. Our last comment exchange is from late 2007, when she took a beautiful photo of a succulent, side lit by the winter sun, with a gold orange wall behind it. I realize now, as i look at the photo, that the colors are perfect, in that the wall is a quarter of the way around the color wheel from the succulent -- the same intensity and value (I think those are the color theory terms.)
I've dug in my archive and found a note from March of 2008 (the details about the cuts are in a private post following the public one). I was trying to focus my caring and loving energy, the energy that develops from reading of your lives in the intimacy these journal communities offer, on folks who i thought might also be reading about my life.
That seems so odd in these quiet journal days, as all the energy seems to have moved off to facebook and Google+, but i think i was stretching more than i could give to others and i wanted to focus.
judywatt's creativity inspired me, and i still have an aspiration to keep a collage calendar journal inspired by her calendar pages.
I am thankfull for the time i had a window into her life, and i thank you all for the windows you offer me into yours.
