Autumn

Today i noticed that a sweet gum[1] has begun to change color. As i drove down Middlefield in Mountain View, i noticed how ginkos are become a golden green, still not yellow, but the sunlight of summer showing through the fading green.

As i got to San Mateo, i noticed a whole line of sweet gums beginning to flame.

Seasons pass so quickly: i need to become more intentional about experiencing them. I've let that go in preference to work for too long.


[1] Liquid amber is what i've heard them called in California; it's a type of sycamore.
