I struggle with various aspects of shopping/buying myself. As I'm working tomorrow on Small Business Saturday, I did some online and brick-and-mortar small business shopping today, plus one big-business store (LL Bean; our rugs are wearing out and one that I bought is recycled and made in the US, so I feel reasonably virtuous).
Unintended consequences abound; one reason I don't believe "the end justifies the means," because you often don't get the end you intend to. One of my favorite anime (Japanese animated movies/TV), Code Geass, is a prime illustration. As is, well, a hefty percentage of US political decisions.
Walking in the baylands sounds like a wonderful way to spend Thanksgiving--enjoying the beauties of nature and the fall.
