I have a bit of a bias toward larger dogs too, when it comes to dogs. And a larger one may or may not be able to stand up to the cats--my cousins' retrievers are terrorized by their daughter's part-Maine Coon cat. Maybe an older mellow dog that lived in a house with cats and didn't endanger them or take crap from them?
