My college read volume 1 of that trilogy as the common reading a few years ago and I got to meet John Lewis when he came and spoke at our college. He was amazing; he has a lot of presence and energy in the room. A true hero.

One of the things I like best about the books is the way they deliberately serve as an activism primer for readers: here are the rules of nonviolence, here is how we practiced, here is how we did it. I have volume 3 sitting here on my dining room table waiting for me.
