This holiday's theme is ambiguity and allowing myself to feel grief while also having joy. I am in pretty severe discomfort with ulcers at the back of my throat. A nibling with each of my siblings has tested positive for COVID; my sister in law's husband was hospitalized with pulmonary edema -- but was released much sooner than expected. We had one pair of home COVID tests announce to us that they were recalled. Another pair says we were negative, so we think we didn't expose anyone. However, the nibling whose tests returned positive this morning is the one i went hiking with on Thursday and then had in for lunch. So, we don't feel clear yet.
We've celebrated, we've had good food, we've taken cheer from family to family. We have videoed, called, texted.
We celebrated thirty years of marriage.
We fixed nice dinners and hosted some of our siblings.
I am peopled out.
I hope if you are celebrating the solstice or Yule or Christmas you have joy and delight.
i love spending time with you via your journals and hope for the best for you.

My very best wishes for all your kin recovering from COVID and the lung problem (which sounds awful) and that you both continue COVID-free.
Good Yule! And if you do read my journal, thanks (and no comments ever needed).
