We had a friend (adopted family) over for Christmas dinner for the first time in quite a few years, and it was So Fun. But also a lot of work. Because I class a roast beast* as pretext for an enormous lot of vegetables, and our dinner table looked like a pathology of sorts.
Sheeyun took responsibility for nearly all clearance and dishwashing! On his own, like an adult!
We hung out! I haven't hung out with anyone for So Long, and I'd forgot how much I enjoy it. And we watched a very uncharacteristic and really good Godzilla movie, Shin Godzilla, which I'll be thinking about for a long time.
Sadly my COVID app indicated that I had been in the vicinity of someone who had recently tested positive. I doubt it was our guest. Which means church or a quick stop at a 7-11 to get cash. I am believing the latter.
