We punted on scouring the internet and just went with the Maytag reviewed by Wirecutter: https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/the-best-dishwasher/

Since ours is so old i suspect ANYTHING will come off as an upgrade. I just went to the Lowes website to download the manual and found the sale price we took advantage of yesterday is gone today! Lucky!
