Quick entry because ... i need to?

Lunch yesterday: two skinks in the house. One in the corner by the door to the deck, then another with Marlowe chasing it by the door to the back office. We relocate the skinks to safety in the front yard in good skink habitat, but maybe they need to go back to the other skinks and warn them.

How I love skinks! Were these five-lined skinks? Were they in their lithe and gold-lined youth, or in ruddy-headed maturity?

We've three species of the five lined skins here, only one of which has males that become large and ruddy headed. I haven't seen any of those, so i think we've got another species where they don't change as much as they age. https://www.ncwildlife.org/Learning/Species/Reptiles/five-lined-skink I've not gotten to the checking scales width underneath the tail -- apparently the field mark for distinguishing one of the other two species.
