So his breathing was worrisome, Christine sent a video to our vet who suggested we take him to the 24 hr vet. We are now in Durham where we have been told he has fluid buildup around his lungs, either from congestive heart failure or cancer. We will have them attempt to remove the fluid to provide relief and be tested for signals of cancer. Also a blood test to determine heat failure.

Then I think we will take him home. There is an at home euthanasia vet to call when the time comes. There's still a chance it's just infection but the vet didn't seem to think that the likely result.

Banzai had a fluid build up around his lungs too, it was Chylothorax and it sucked. We had to have him "drained" every month or so. I hope it's just an infection, it's so hard because they can't tell you

Yes, kitty. I try to remember but i don't write about our pets that much. Carrie dog is right now eating old oat grass out of a square 4" planter that is inside a square 5" planter, and she jumps at the noises plastic on plastic makes. Our training her to get past statement/fear/uncertainty in finding her treats has her persisting though. She a found hound, some sort of bird dog cross with a border collie. The border collie comes out only for an hour or so of play or finding, and then she sleeps the sleep of the hound much of the day.
