Now i read a summary statement from my product division counterpart. We had two fiscal year goals that involved "el-dap." (One involved LDAP and the other ELDAP, and best i can tell, they're pronounced the same way. The E stands for "Enterprise." LDAP is a database of identity data, essentially.) He's taken the two goals and has created a brand new goal that i don't recognize.
ARGH.
So i start journaling with this headache.
Also, the laptop screen is dirty.

Every time i try to hold the big picture in my head, little details start screaming about needing attention. And then my head hurts.

Note to self. Apparently, you need to ship Yule gifts right after Thanksgiving, since L's family is traveling, and N's is in China. Thank heavens you ordered those books!
Not ready for the holidays. But -- yay -- other people are, and the 7 am meeting for tomorrow is canceled!

WTF is the difference between target and delivery dates?
Here are the valid statuses and associated meanings:
Listed – is on the roadmap
Planning – is actively being discussed and planned. (This phase is where the specifications and release plan are completed.)
Ready – the initiative is planned and ready to start but is waiting for resource or other dependency such a completion of a module from another group.
Active – being implemented
Production Ready – release ready code is available and waiting for completion of system of preproduction testing
Complete – In production and available to users

Additionally, for the roadmap I would like to see the initiatives that were originally planned for FY 11 but for whatever reason have been pushed out. This should be a separate slide with a different color scheme (orange). The title would “XXXX Portfolio FY 11 Roadmap Items Deferred”.
