Somehow, the BBC photo caption, "There has been a huge outpouring of sympathy for Mr Lin, who was killed and dismembered," just doesn't seem phrased well.

Spent quite a long time sorting through audio books available online from my library to replace "The Shallows." Interesting nonfiction books seem mostly either to have long wait lists or only be available in a windows format. After placing a number of holds, I moved on to the mysteries. This too wasn't as rewarding as i would have liked, but i think i've found something pleasantly diverting for the Weeks of Intensity. By the time that's over, it should be my turn in a hold queue or two.
Hrm, after 25 minutes on the trainer, "Death of an Angel, Sister Mary Helen Mystery Series, Book 7," may have some body image issues.

Hrm, it's a commute home and the nuns are trying to figure out how to send the 30 plus year old woman to a "fat farm."
And now it's Friday morning and -- huzzah -- Botany of Desire is now available. That sounds like a much more rewarding book to listen to.
This morning i dove down a deep hole of reading about professional tilt-shift lenses (wonderful for removing distortions in perspective, like trees in a forest), DIY tilt-shift lenses (wonderful for making the funky "tilt-shift" images), and "free lensing" (wonderful for getting even more funky effects). Of course, what is most attractive to me is the distortion removal in shooting buildings and trees: it's not clear the DIY solutions are good for that issue. I suppose i may try some free lensing to see how it works for me.
Someday.
