I bought a seed account on Dreamwidth this morning.
In doing so, i check my bank statement and saw the oddest charge from "Yahoo * [My Name].com." After a little digging in DNS and a bank statement, about a year ago in late March "I" signed up for Yahoo hosting of that domain name.
Reading my journal and email from a year ago i see NOTHING that points to me getting that domain name. (Oh, boy, i was depressed, wasn't i.)
I have NOTHING in my computer about [myname].com except an email from work where Network Solutions wrote the Minnow in 2007 that [myname].com was available.
I can't imagine why anyone would use my credit card to buy me a domain name with my name: there's no motive for this that i can think of. The domain name isn't being used. It's yahoo who is profiting. But if i was going to do it, wouldn't i buy through my preferred registrar? And why would i pay yahoo when we have our own machine in a collo?
I've written yahoo.
This has bugged me for over two hours now. Must clean the kitty litter, meet up folks for coffee, and go to meeting.
But ARGH!!! (Also, i skipped dancing up the sun at dawn for this?!?!)

I would be absolutely livid about the domain name. And it would take a lot to talk me out of thinking it's Yahoo. They are a really skeevy company. I daresay you wrote a polite and self-controlled e-mail, though. Yeesh. Hope you can get a refund.
