I had wanted to take some time this weekend for a road trip south to explore the landscape around the Pinnacles, and i had also wanted to take two days off work. But i didn't really prepare for that in my dawdling nor did i protect vacation time. I suspect i'll take much time in May. My parents might be coming out (depends on my brother), and i definitely want to junket out to the Farallon Islands to whale-watch and see the life around those rocky outposts of the San Francisco Bay.
Instead, today's plan is driving around to recycle things and perhaps i'll see what walking i can do near the Sunnyvale dump. I suppose if i feel very footloose, maybe i'll go to Edgewood, maybe i'll go see bald eagles, maybe i'll go to Pacifica for a poetry event, maybe i'll go east to a wildflower festival, and maybe i'll just stay home. Mr M just threw up on the bed so that settles the necessity of getting laundry done, but i've decided to do that after 6 pm. (Once it's sorted, i tend to be able to get it done in my low energy evening.)
Too many choices!
This is sad to read: "The [local recycling facility] no longer accepts plastic bags for recycling due to the inability to find a viable market for the material." We're directed to take them to the grocery store. Our town is considering a ban on plastic bags, which would, i suppose, allow the grocery stores to remove the recycling bins. I use those bins for not just the occasional grocery bag, but all the other plastic films marked as recyclable.
