Yesterday, too much work, ending with an extraordinarily frustrating install with mistakes made all around. I've not yet reached the point where i can demonstrate one of the most egregious was a mistake made by me, but i'm working on it.

Today work too early.

The pleasures yesterday were learning that listening to the Biology lecture at 2x speed was still perfectly comprehensible, so getting stuck in dreadful traffic on the way home (so bad that there had been a traffic advisory) just meant more organic chemistry. And let me tell you, in the abstract organic chemistry is COOL. How did i go so long without ... oh right, i don't think i've ever had a biology course.

As long as i don't have to memorize names and chemical bond diagrams, i am fascinated with organic chemistry. And the current state of understanding how organic chemistry just HAPPENS fascinates me. Carbon chemistry is so special: the way the chemicals self assemble, and then assemble more complexity, and then more complexity ...

Anyhow, carbon based organic chemistry is not necessarily entirely unique: see polyoxometalates where similar cell like structures arise and there's some possibility that the cells will evolve in different media.

Anyhow, off to work.
