I haven't written about the lovely springtime blossoms on the trees. I've been enjoying them for a couple weeks, but Saturday, riding behind Christine on the motorcycle, i paid close attention. First i noticed the pale foam flowers, different shades of white and pink. Then we began to pass mimosas, dripping egg yolk yellow blossoms. I presumed the Mediterranean plant was from Australia, like the bottlebrushes (Callistemon), their scarlet blossoms also beginning to brighten. My initial attempt to track down the plant led me to believe it was Italian, as articles and blogs mentioned the yellow blossoms heralding La Primavera! The "Festa della Donna" is celebrated with the Mimosa, but the PPS of this article explains that the acacia dealbata is an invasive from Australia. Ah ha.

I give myself gold stars for going downstairs and walking on the treadmill today. Despite the bright lovely weather, i was simply trying to escape my cravings, and i thought a walk while reading a book might do it. Unfortunately, i ended up buying a candy bar and a packet of chips after. I ended up leaving the office early, running some errands with Christine, home for dinner and surfing, and now too tired to consider the WORK that needed focus. I'm not sure if that's a gold star *and* a black mark or perhaps simply a valiant effort? Valiant effort: i did try to stave off the craving.
