Since
spiritchaser1 mentioned the Star Trek (2009) lens flares (as have many others), i said something to Christine about the "Star Trek was great, but um -- perhaps too many lens flares?" consensus. She suggests that it can be a drinking game.
I realize we could use it for a *candy* game: a piece for every flare. I'd have a sugar hangover the next day, for sure. *sigh*
Christine later suggests that perhaps i should have popcorn every lens flare.
[Aww, supportive spouse!]
Meeting today: committee meeting, mildly productive with a touch of irritation. Meeting for Worship: visualizing how to stack stenciled-resist in dyeing. BRAIN, why do you want to dye things????? Home to a cool apartment, to a spouse busy getting her control points straightened out before orthorectifying a new aerial image.
She suggests that maybe we could write geospatial mysteries some day.

You gonna start playing with batik too? :-D

I wouldn't do batik because the wax resist goes beyond my effort threshold, but I am curious about simpler starch resists.
first dw comment from phone: will it work?

You can try shibori. That's pretty sweet. Folded/tied resist, usually with a solid object underneath.

I like -- i guess this is shibori -- because i can imagine using it for very delicate detail around collars and hem lines and cuffs and then having the more abstract results of LWI for the all-over clothing.
Hmm, looking at this

i wonder if i could experiment with shibori using bleach on denim scraps...
