Quickly, before work starts.
I bailed on work at 3 pm when my 3:30 meeting was canceled. I chattered at my sister about iron and the effects on one's digestive system and the likelihood my drop was due to not having fortified wheat products. (Her kids are borderline anemic and she's putting pureed broccoli in lasagna now. She is not excited about the side effects i've had from the iron supplements.)
Christine and i went to Shoreline and walked around in the bright sun of the late afternoon. I'm dazzling myself now. I blame yesterday's low on the lack of light for three days.
We wandered through the grocery store getting our short list and padding it out with fun winter squash and an unnecessary pomegranate. We were just a couple hundred feet from our complex when i realized we'd forgotten my over the counter meds. Back we went.
We watched Sherlock last night (streaming from video.pbs.org, how cool) and i was reasonably amused. Would i have been amused if i wasn't familiar with the story? I'm not sure.

The doctor didn't blanch when i showed her the generic iron supplements. She suggested regularly taking docusate sodium (she named the brand colace, i got Phillip's) 100-200 mg. I think i might be getting my lower digestive track back to normal.
The additional cost of the docusate sodium might mean Slow Fe is more economical (it only seems to have C as a preservative, not enough to report on percent of daily allowance) but if i balance out with the docusate sodium i may not want to fiddle. -- I'd need to take 2 slow Fe, $28 for 45 days .... looks like if i'd gotten the store brand of docusate sodium i could bring the cost down. So, probably just stick with store brands of the two for the time being.
Anyhow, i think my digestive system may be just as much a part of my malaise as the the lack of sun. And maybe i'm just depressed.
