I took over 130 photos, 2.3 GB, and culled them down to these six.

I like your house finch, your hummingbirds, your what's that yellow warblerish bird? and of course your squirrel. :) Nothing wrong with them buds, either. :)

Thanks -- it's a goldfinch. We have several different species, i'm not sure which one it is. Watching the humming bird groom through the telephoto was pretty fascinating.

Ah, thanks. Goldfinch was my best guess, but I wasn't a bit sure about it. :)

Shared the set with a couple of friends, who both found the squirrel threatening for some reason - I think s/he's cute :-) The ornithologist thought an Anna's Hummingbird :-)

They are definitely Anna's. I think the squirrel found *me* ominous and threatening. I'm going to leave the camera on the tripod near the door so critters can get used to it.

Once giving me a good look over, the squirrel decided i wasn't and i spent a great deal of the time observing birds while listening to the squirrel gleaning fallen birdseed.
