Food: i broke my bovine dairy fast on Friday afternoon with a milk chocolate bar and then sour cream dressed potato salad. After dinner, i had ice cream. I first had a bite of a Snickers bar (my first peanuts in two weeks) before Christine saved me from myself. I really don't think i have a peanut sensitivity.... I replaced the snickers with something else (i've now forgotten). I was in the candy isle and reached for a boxed chocolate bar (store brand "premium"), and one fell out after i took one. As i bent over to pick up the dropped bar, another hit the back of my head. "Ow!" I said loudly, which attracted the attention of a woman as three more bars pelted me. We both dissolved into giggles: real life slapstick.
So far, no evidence of any issues with dairy.
Another indulgence has been potato chips with cheese or sour cream flavoring. I've eaten more chips in the past month than in the year before. I had to be cautious as so many were seasoned with some dairy derived treatment: now i splurge.

We splurged on mlb.com media last night since it's post season and the audio streams we've had during the regular season don't seem to hold my attention. I like the sound of baseball announcers but don't seem to track the game well. We tuned in just in time to see a ARod hit two run homer in the bottom of the 9th, tying the game. I found myself cheering for the Yankees.
I'm not sure whether i respect myself this morning.
The post season video package allows one to watch four games simultaneously. It's mildly entertaining to play with the web interface to do that, turning the computer screen into a sports bar wall. However, it's just the novelty that interests me: i couldn't really watch four different games simultaneously.

In other tech trivia, i'm happy to see Missing Sync has a mac sync product coming out for Android, and that the Pre product will have Notes functionality soon. Christine & spent some time looking at and chatting about phones today as she's interested in a new one, and the HTC Hero, the first Android phone for Sprint, is released tomorrow. I'm pondering utility and necessity and price. If one of us is on a data plan, we both might as well be, as the cost of a "cheap" plan plus an individual data plan is more than two phones on the data plan.
So far, the only regret i have about my Treo is that the camera is terrible, and there's no voice dialing (and thus it isn't *really* a hands free phone). The temptation to get a new phone when Christine does is high -- but maybe i'll skip.

In more tech news, Christine took Mandrake to the Apple store on Thursday, and it's been shipped off to have the USB connectors inspected. When my iBook was almost three years old, it too had a trip off for repairs and came back with a new mainboard and other repairs. I'm hoping the same happens with Mandrake and that Christine can have a Mac laptop again.

I've ordered some unmentionables from http://www.ecolandinc.com/ . Sooner or later i was going to find myself in a big box store buying cheap stuff with significant externalized costs. Hopefully these will meet my needs.
