Dear Universe,

Please let up on my parents.

Not only are they worried about my brother who is grieving over the likely loss of the pregnancy,

Not only are they worried about my mom's father's health,

But now my dad's mother has broken her leg in Arizona,

And just half an hour ago they found that their dog stayed in the car after an errand and died of heat exhaustion.

Meanwhile they're hosting a great big family shindig with my sister's husband's parents, sister and her husband and newborn PLUS my mom's brother & his wife.

Please let Aunt P be not a jerk, and let my parents (who aren't sharing this news about their dog -- "chin up" -- while simultaneously frustrated that my brother hadn't shared news that his wife was having complications) open themselves to love and support from all the family around them.

Fiddlesticks,

me

PS: Thanks that Grandmama is in fabulous spirits and sounds like she's taking this broken femur in good stride, no pun intended. She's disappointed that at 94 this has happened.

Hi Friends,

A couple months ago, someone shared a prayer in vocal ministry, in
which they repeated a phrase several times, dropping a word each time
until it ended in silence. I would like to remember the words, as it
seemed to be a wonderful entry into silent worship.

Thank you,
....

Hi ....,

That was Ruth F-----, and she was quoting Psalm 46:10: "Be still and
know that I am God," subtracting a word off the end each time.

Peace,
....
