Pooped!

Yesterday, i had a long hard workday, and then a committee meeting, and then i kidnapped Christine. We walked downtown, had an utterly decadent meal in which i consumed BREAD with Dungeness crab and artichoke dip, had a beet salad, and then had the seared scallops over a medley of roasted veggies including asparagus, the thinnest slivers of red bell pepper, and lovely kernels of white corn. I had them hold the cream sauce, and so i was delighted with the meal. It was at Cranky Fish and outside: i forget why we have opted not to eat there at times. Christine suggests that it is also a pricier place that we would normally prefer. That's true.
The groupie

We strolled back north along Castro, stopping at the used book store where i found a hard cover copy of Persepolis, and then we listened to a jazz group perform at a coffee house. I crocheted a bit while Christine cussed at her cross stitch. Finally we strolled home. It was a lovely, indulgent evening.

I spent the morning lingering in bed and reading all sorts of things, like the news, and facebook, and blog posts. Then i dashed off to the grocery store for kids food.

My sister in law and the nephews showed up at 1:30 and we stayed at the pool till after 5:30 with them. This is a mildly foreign experience for me, just hanging out, but it was a perfect way to be with the kids. I got in and out of the pool several times, connecting a bit more with my youngest nephew. I chilled, too, so i've since taken a very warm bath.

In the bits in between i've watched "Return to Oz" and read Persepolis.

Apparently i am not the first to think Thomas Dolby an exemplar of early steampunk. But yes.

I really do like my phone and how it also functions as a music device. I would like a longer battery life, but i do find the Evo suits me very well.

Pondering buying the new Devo, and thinking about Birdsong of the Mesozoic for the first time in ages.
