I am in a flare, the inflammation from the canker perceptible across the side of my face. I note how many different skin issues are complaining, too. Perhaps this is why i had so many headaches last week?

I wish i knew why. My mind runs through a diet-blame cycle. I didn't take this supplement regularly, i quit taking that supplement for a couple of weeks, i've indulged in wheat more often, etc, etc. I'm dubious, but this will provide some motivation to be even more "on the wagon" than i have been.

Meanwhile, computer use this morning was stalled as i tried to shut down for a reboot so that applications might run faster. I wish i felt i had time to really sort out the problem. My suspicion is that the sluggishness is due part to the email program and part to the indexing system.

It's raining! (Or "raining." Not sure you'd really need windshield wipers but the roads are wet.) I find this terribly unexpected although a colleague says it was predicted. I notice tomorrow afternoon, at least, is clear: i've a hope of seeing the Venus transit still.

I check the HamCam (http://mthamilton.ucolick.org/hamcam/) and see even at Mt Hamilton observatory the skies are obscured by grey. I'm glad i didn't try to get up for the partial lunar eclipse this morning, and, checking the "daily movie" there is a chance i'll be able to use that to view the beginning of the eclipse tomorrow when then next daily movie & daily photos are generated.

One of my aggressive procrastinatory tasks was re sorting amy bookmark folders for webcomics. I have a folder for comics that update M-F, and then five folders form each day of the work week, sprinkling irregularly updating sites in on days that didn't have regular new comics with the comics that have regular updates only several days of the week.

I one of my potential treats for the weekend was going out and buying the King City collection based on JWZ's recommendation (http://jwz.livejournal.com/1679867.html). Well, i didn't feel i earned it on Saturday: the only reason i finished was so we could go see a movie. Thus, the movie was clearly the reward. I speculated i should hold out for buying the work after another procrastinatory task for work was completed. A little latter i became terribly amused that a comic book might be incentive, whereas professional pride, my honor, and my salary appear to be insufficient.

By the way, i think i really like Tumblr, despite the frequent shortform, despite the reblogging. I "get it" in a way i wasn't "getting it" on Diaspora, for some reason. I'm http://elainegrey.tumblr.com/ there.
