The best way for me to stay still and rest when sick is to have a book of fiction in my hand. I plowed through most of Sean McMullen's _Souls in the Great Machine_ yesterday, but haven't finished it out of ... spite? While the future Earth described is fascinating, the characters stretched my sense of plausibility past the breaking point.

I've finished watching the available episodes of New Zealand situated _Legend of the Seeker_, a swords and leather series from the same folks who brought us Xena and Hercules, but without the campy humor. Yes, explicit sorcery in this series... but there's something distinctive about the leather fighting outfits for the women to make a specific subgenera.

With that out of the way, i wondered what distraction i'd have left, and it appears that Netflix now streams many seasons of Farscape: hoorah.

So, i am mending, although NyQuil/DayQuil may be part of my not feeling as dreadful as i did Wednesday. My appetite has not returned, and that's a sign i'm still sick. I also am sleeping (fitfully) late into the morning (for me), so that's another sign. Somehow, i need to get well and not impatiently move on to acting as if i was well.

I've passed on my pass for an unconference to a friend. (She's a little beside herself at the cost of the conference and getting the ticket free. I think i'll ask her to "pay it forward" if it ever comes up again.) I've sent an announcement to the Meeting list that tonight's activity night has no host (everyone i could think to turn to was unavailable).

OK, so the window of motivation is rather short. I'm feeling muddleminded again, so i'm going to go watch something and maybe see if i can get some food in me. If i start now...
