OMG the glass in my throat. Surgeon looked at it and didn't seem concerned. Negative COVID, test if it can be trusted.
Tried fiddling with CPAP humidification and heat, and began getting water in the tube after two hours. Warmer setting? I don't know. I sat with the fog machine twice yesterday, and it was very helpful with clearing up my nose for breathing.
I believe
Clear nose > nose breathing > more humid throat > faster healing throat
Maybe i'll try working from bed with the fog machine.
And maybe i'll go back to sleeping without the CPAP and with the fog machine for a few nights? Because if i am waking up thoroughly every hour or so when i try to swallow, it's not like i'm getting a good night's sleep.
Trying aspirin this morning: not particularly different than the 500 mg acetaminophen or naproxen sodium.
This will pass, but until then, ugh.

It moved fast? But the sore throat was awful, and I slept a ton for a couple of days there.
Having a sip of brandy to reduce the inflammation was the only thing I found that helped the throat much, other than rest. Apparently it's going around. (My exposure isn't huge... but I did take off my mask to eat during final student presentations, and I attended a friend's graduation party. But that was a while ago, so maybe this is just really contagious?)

My throat pain was probably irritation or injury. I didn't have body ache or test positive for COVID or for strep. No fever, just pain. It has gotten better with a blast of 140 mg prednisone tapered over three days. There's a normal sore throat remaining: i assume it's still irritated from the surgery drainage and the saline rinses. The antibiotic i took for a few days, plus the very soft and bland diet during the worst of the discomfort, affected other systems. It's all connected.
